Design Policies

In order to ensure maximum proficiency and customer satisfaction, our professional design team would like you to understand the production process. Please take the time to read through the following information before contacting our design staff for your project. Thank you.

Order Rush:

A  rush charge or 50% above the design fee will apply to any projects with less than 3 days turn-around. This EXCLUDES weekends. A rush charge or 100% above design fee will apply to any projects with less than 24 hour turnaround. This also EXCLUDES weekends.

Cancellation Fee:

Any cancelled projects will be billed at normal hourly rates regardless of completion. Please note: If you have a meeting/consultation scheduled with UrbanDesignFirm.com and you fail to show without notice, you will be billed for time scheduled.

Meeting Time:

The initial client meeting will be free of charge. Any additional meetings or consultations ( including phone) will be billed at our standard hourly rate unless meeting is requested by UrbanDesignFirm.com

Proofs:

Once a project is ready for client approval, a rough draft will be provided by our designers via email. Hard copies & prints are 5$ each occurrence. Upon receipt of your approval, your project will begin production.

Scanning Fees:

A scan fee of 10$ will apply to any project requiring normal image scanning. Additional fees may apply for any negative or slide scans.

Deposits:

UrbanDesignFirm.com requires the design retainer to be paid in full before we begin your project. Upon cancellation, a refund will be provided after applying any cancellation fee necessary for the particular project.  If the cancellation fee is greater than the retainer fee, the client will be responsible for the remaining balance.

Rights & Ownership:

This fee applies to projects that will be re-used, such as logos, TV ads, or websites. This fee is flexible and will be assessed based on each individual project. One time projects such as fliers or posters will not have any rights or ownership fees while other yearly contracted services may contain specific usage rights and/or fees.

Revisions:

Every project has revisions. Your first revision round is typically free of charge. If new requests are introduced into revision requests which require further design and/or development time, these may be considered new projects and require additional, billable time. Each additional revision will be charged at our standard hourly rate.

Client Approval:

Once a project has been approved for print or web publishing, UrbanDesignFirm.com designers are not responsible for any errors or delays in production. You are the final proof reader and you give the final approval to print or publish.

Grammatical errors:

In most cases our designers will cut & paste from the text you supply for the project. It is your responsibility to make sure your spelling, event dates, and any other critical information is correct and accurate upon approval of your project. UrbanDesignFirm.com is not responsible for grammatical errors on approved designs.

Website Access:

When you purchase a website from UrbanDesignFirm.com you will be given WYSIWYG access to edit your website content (text & photos) once the website is live. When UrbanDesignFirm.com has given the security information to a 3rd party/client, UrbanDesignFirm.com will no longer be held responsible for modifications to the site, server or any other content.  If the website, or any function thereof, stops functioning from this point forward UrbanDesignFirm.com will charge a fee to repair it. We also provide administrative and cpanel access upon request.
